I always pray but for some reason it feels fake to me. I really want a relationship but in my head for some reason my prayers feel fake. I don’t know how else to explain it. Any answers would be appreciated

I've never felt that connection with prayers and god. As a result I figured out that I'm not a religious person and that I was "praying" to something I didn't believe in. God isn't something I needed.

Instead I believe in people. That they can and do chose the right things. So, I spend time making a change in the world; hopefully for the positive.

I have been a Christian since I was 5 and Ive been going to church since I was born so what I suggest is first try to find a church to attend, if youre not attending already, so you can be around people to help you get closer to Him. Also, reading your Bible and praying everyday helps too. Praying isnt some kind of ritual either. You can just talk to God in your mind anytime and anywhere you want. Those are just a few things that you can do :) I hoped that helped :)

I know how you feel, yet it can be your approach not that it's fake. How do you approach God? With "religious" talk or from the heart? That's all God wants. He wants your heart. He is a loving Father and wants to hear from you, but not the "everything is fine prayers" because you both know that's not the truth. Prayer is nothing more than conversation. It doesn't have to be fancy. Think about how you talk to a friend. He can take your slang, He can understand how every you put it. The bottom line is He loves you and wants to hear from you. "Father, I am so confused... I am so hurt." Whatever tell Him what you feel, even if it's to tell Him you don't know what your doing, but you sure would like a personal relationship with Him. Ask Him to send you His Holy Spirit (the Bible says (I am using my own words here to make it easier for you to understand): We don't know how to pray as we should so the Spirit helps us, but also prays for us.) so that He can teach you and guide you. Ask in Jesus' Name. Then look for a Christian church and talk with the Pastor.

IMHO, Christianity is a joke. Its only real purpose, IMHO, was to control people. Now, in the 21st century, people still believe that you need to surrender yourself to a Jewish zombie to be "saved" from human nature.

Huggable Cactus, the OP did say "any answer is acceptable"... Not "any Christian answers acceptable". I lol'd at the number of downvotes I got.
