I can’t eat…

0

I’m hungry, but for some reason, I can’t get myself to eat. All I’ve eaten today is an orange and a 100-calorie sandwich thin, and I had to force myself. I didn’t eat dinner last night, either. I’ve heard my stomach grumbling all day, and I feel like I’m going to pass out from hunger, but for some reason I just can’t get myself to eat very much.

Not eating isn't healthy. If you're hungry, then your body is giving you a clear sign that you need to eat. You can't ignore your appetite like that. You barely ate today. If you keep this up, you'll eventually get sick. You'll lack many vitamins and other things that your body needs to function properly. Don't skip meals. Even if it's difficult to eat, try to eat at least a bit and build it up from there. You can eat something light like a salad or some yogurt. If your stomach is grumbling and you feel like you'll pass out, then you definitely need to eat something or else it's not going to end very well. If you don't change this, you'll develop an eating disorder, if you don't already have one and that's really not what you want. If you really can't eat, then you need to get help. This is bad for your health. Try to eat a little bit more every day, but do not skip meals.

I have body image issues, but that mainly has to do with me being physically female (can't do anything about that until I'm legally an adult). Most of the time, I don't have a hard time eating, although recently, I became a vegetarian due to changes in my ideological beliefs. However, this same thing happened a couple years back, and it was hard to get myself to eat again.

I broke down and forced myself to eat tonight. I ate more food tonight than I had in the past two days. I don't know whether to feel proud or ashamed. My body feels weird.

It's a good thing that you ate a lot, at least you're eating, but it's terrible for you to starve yourself then eat in bursts. Try to set a schedule for yourself, eat something small but efficient every hour. Like a chewy bar or any meal supplement. It won't be as difficult to eat something small and do it regularly rather than make yourself eat 3 big meals a day.

I normally do that, but for some reason, I suddenly didn't want to eat anymore, and everytime I do eat, something inside of me seems to reject the food, making me hesitant to eat again for hours, even if it's just a small amount of food. Even after eating as much as I did tonight, I don't know when is the next time I'm going to to eat.

I know you don't feel like eating, it's an effort. But it's an effort you have to make. Your body is rejecting the food because your eating habits are erratic. It can be due to changes going on within your body, but your body needs food regardless. You may not be able to enjoy eating, but that doesn't mean you don't need to. That's why I told you to make a schedule, it'll make you eat regularly. You can even have an alarm that goes off every hour or two if it means it'll make you take it more seriously.

But I told you that I normally eat at regular intervals.

I know that you normally eat at regular intervals, and that's a good thing. I'm just saying you should continue to do that, even if it seems like your body doesn't want you to. Your body may not want you to do that for many reasons, but regardless of that your body still needs food.Normally eating when your body doesn't want you to causes you to throw up, but taking in small portions helps alleviate that greatly.

It sounds like an eating disorder, get a doctor.
