I am having anxiety and i need help!

Okay, so this is all stemming over the fact that I need a day off of work.
Background; I have 2 bosses at work. I do reception/shipping & receiving. I am the only one who answers phones and blah blah. Apparently men are too pathetic to do this. There is no one to cover me.
My bosses work here alternating weeks. I am good with one. The other not so much. This one also happens to be my parent’s friend. (presents and issue I will explain in a min)
The day I need off work is a Monday. Our busiest day of the week. And the boss, parent’s friend, is the one who is here. He will not give it to me off.
I need this day off to go out of town. I miss out on so much stuff because of work and not having the money. I really do not want to miss out on this. I will be left in town alone because we have a large amount of people going. We do not have holiday days. I have NEVER called in sick the whole time I have worked here. I have only ever taken 2 days off work in nearly a year.

So my options are;
Tell the truth. – This gives me a very slim chance of actually getting the day off, because like I said, he won’t answer phones or anything. He doesn’t allow me to take the time off, but anyone else is fine. That’s cool.
Lie about it. – Say I have an appointment? Or more then one? Emergency? The issue here is my parents again. They can talk to each other and unless I lie to my parent’s too, I may get screwed over.
Call in sick. – This seems like my best option. As long as things are not posted to facebook, then I can say I stayed at my bf’s all day. Not far fetched because I am always there anyways.

What do I do guys? I don’t wanna hear the ‘this is the right thing to do’ shit. I am stressed, I need to go, it’s only 1 day! How do I get out of work

Your stress level is obviously getting out of hand, calling in sick would only be half a lie if you ask me. Hope you get that day off!

Hey there!I've actually been in this situation before myself, a little different, but I desperately needed a day off. I work with children and it was an old job that involved working with children as well so it was SUPER exhausting.Anyway, honestly I'd go with whatever you feel is most important to you. Do you want to live with guilt and the risk of lying to his face and lying to your parents? Whenever I've done this, it's ALWAYS come back to bite me. However, if you're honest with him he may not take you seriously. In this case, I honestly think you should just call in sick and lay low. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Consider it a "sick and getting my mental health better" kind of day. Do what you want/need to do! You can't over do it and hurt yourself in the long run because that can cause physical health issues in the future! Take care of yourself and take a break!!

Oh, something like this happened to me once before. My best friend was in town visiting (I only get to see him about once a year, twice if I'm lucky) and I could not get time off work at all, even though I requested it in advance. So I called in sick for one of the days he was there so I could spend more time with him. It worked out okay for me and it wasn't too big of a deal at work. So, calling in sick might be the easiest way to get a day off.

I would also ring in sick - although my morals are telling me to be honest with your boss - it really depends on how comfortable you feel with them.If you explain how important this one day is to you - surely they will make an exception?? Don't you get holidays?

Everyone alive has faked sick to get out of work at some point. Do what you've gotta do. Food poisoning is a good option as it's gross enough to discourage questions and can plausibly be recovered from in a day.
