How’s doing college? Should I be afraid or excited?

0

I’ll go to college in 1 months and I’m stressed about all that, i’m stressed about not being able to integrate this new life and won’t have friends.. and also I won’t be in my city so it’s more stressing because I won’t see my family nor my friends and I will be a new student in another city that I visited for 2 ou 3 times so I’m really afraid may be you will think that I exaggerate but I really don’t.
And thanks to everyone who will respond to my questions.

It should be an awesome new experience. You'll be in a new city? Great, explore, get to know the city, you'll meet people for sure just keep a curious attitude. If you're studying something you enjoy then there is no reason to be afraid. It might seem a little overwhelming, but be confident in yourself because it's a great opportunity to grow as a person and experience new things. I'd be very excited in your position.

Congratulations on this exciting journey! To help feel more involved on campus and to meet new people try joining a campus club related to your major or any interests like dance or tennis. You'll not only find people with similar interests as you but you'll be able to make friends who make this transition easier. They can show you around to all the surrounding restaurants, fun places, anywhere you need. You can discover things together. I'm sure you aren't the only one who isn't too familiar with the area. Don't be afraid to utilize campus resources like academic advisors. All of the resources are there to HELP your college experience. Have fun but don't forget what you're there for and that is for your education. Also try to go to your professors office hours if you need help on something, they are there to help you. Hope this helped a little! Best of luck! <3

College is a lot of fun. I went four hours away from my hometown for school. I was nervous too, but the key to making friends is being involved. Join on campus clubs and go to events. That's the best way to make new friends. Explore the city you're in and don't be afraid of new experiences. Everyone is nervous about this. You'll be fine, don't worry.
