How to finally live up to your own expectations

0

I have always been a good student and an athlete, but I have never really been able to live up to my expectations even though I know I am capable and I feel like that if I keep doing this, I will not get what I want in life and that this is all or nothing for me. How do I not lower my expectations, yet live up to them, even though how hard you try you cannot live up to them and when it comes down to the clutch you fail and you work your ass off.

I think you need to evaluate what you are capable of and what your expectations are. Instead of making it complicated, sometimes the simple solutions are the right way to go. Try saying to yourself," I am a good athlete and student. I am going to do the best I can. Instead of my expectations being about achieving certain awards or scores, my expectations are to advance in what ever Im doing and learn more." Be patient! and don't think that you cant achieve your high expectations! you can:)

I've had this exact problem. I used to get really anxious about school and all the work that goes along with it, especially my grades. What I learned was that YOU come before your grades. If you're beating yourself up, then just tell yourself that you're only human! Nobody, even yourself, can expect more out of you than you are capable. Give it your all and remind yourself to relax once in a while :)
