How to be more grateful about life?

0

I’ve noticed that I’ve been taking so much for granted. The fact that I’m able to eat, not being shelled nor bombed, and have the ability to be here on BlahTherapy, typing this question. I’ve thought over and over the things that I take for granted and yet I decline and become ungrateful over time. For example, first world problems are an obvious example of being ungrateful.

Any tips to have more gratitude? Should I just acknowledge the things I take for granted more?

Try to appreciate the little things in life, the little details that often get overlooked. Take a moment to think every now and then. The fact that you're aware of this already shows gratitude and appreciation. Most people take everything for granted. It mostly depends on in which environment someone is born. Someone who doesn't have much will more likely appreciate the little things. If you want to be more grateful, keep doing what you did just by typing that question. By being aware of it.

Everyone goes through this in their lifetime. Something that has always helped me is writing down what I am grateful for. I do this everyday and try to reach 100 everyday. You will start to realize there is so much to be thankful for and you wont take the little things for granted. Also, volunteering helps ALOT! Helping others puts life into perspective. It's nothing difficult. :) As Dh422 told, writing down helps a lot. I suggest you to write down every evening before going to bed three things you are grateful for. However, there is one rule - you can't thank for a thing you've already thanked for. It will make to pay attention to more simple things :) Also, try to put a gentle smile on your face forcefully every time you remember it. You can't imagine now, what an effect it has.. Eventually you'll realise other things you need to know to improve. I promise ;) Good luck with that!
