Ive had the same problem when i told my dad that i was depressed; he in turn just laughed and said that i had no reason to be because i had no "serious" responsibilites. I dont know you but i know, or at least will assume, that your mother cares deeply for you and vice versa. Confront her. Discuss in a calm and patient manner that the things you are struggling with are getting out of hand and the advice of someone of professional background can open up a new door to finding solutions. Im not sure if this was a money issue but your mother should atleast try to understand the complications in your life and congradulate you for suggesting and fighting to take that step into finding healthier ways to deal with the issue that trouble you. Tell her to take a walk in your shoes and try to really feel your daily struggles and how this step can help you and your mental health.

Write her a letter detailing the best you can why you are suffering. Be as honest as possible. I know this is hard but once you admit it to someone else it will be less of a burden on you, even if only slightly. People usually tend to take written material more seriously than spoken material, in my experiences. But also, be prepared in case she doesn't take that seriously also. If that happens, take action yourself. If you don't drive or can't afford it on your own, there are free resources available. Recovery groups. See a school counselor or college counselor- free. Read self help books. Until you are able to go on your own.
