how do you get the attention of grown ups with out them saying the word “disrespectful”

my church is nice and i really love going, and i wanna do more than i’m allowed. it’s not that they think i’m being overworked. it’s the stereotypes that came before us. and if they don’t want me to “i’m too young”. i’m 11 so yeah i guess i am young but i’m also a composer and song writer, so shouldn’t it be a little different. i listen in bible study and i follow the rules when my friends don’t and instead of letting me do what i wanna do which will also be productive they bully me into doing something i know i’m not ready for (playing for the main sanctuary). my dad says that i don’t know anything because i’m young and i just want them to see that i’m different.

Tell them this: "Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe." -I Timothy 4:12

Scott is right - just because you're young doesn't mean that they should look down on you. I'm young myself and I have experience with this. The adults do have more life experience, but your opinion matters as well. Just remember that it's not about following the rules, it's about loving and glorifying God, and in the end that's what really matters :)

thats not stereotypes before you.....rather, that is the voice of experiance. You are 11, ...you have a good heart in wanting to help more than your allowed but you lack life's experiance to back yourself up. So help out where your allowed and enjoy doing it....in meantime work on your composing and song writing abilities so when your time comes you can really knock their socks off by showing them what they've been missing out on all this time !
