How do I to bring my grades up?

1

I try really hard, but I have no idea how to study and get off the Internet and it’s really stressing me out. My family went to schools like Brown, Yale and Harvard and I know I’m never going to get into a school like that. However, I just finished my Freshman year and I need some tips to get better grades next year.

Firstly, it's important that you make sure to still keep time for yourself in between your studies. If you keep all this stress in a bottle, and don't let it out, never giving yourself time to relax, it will only have negative effects on your health and well-being.That being said, I can completely understand how you feel. There's a lot of pressure and strain on you when you feel as though you aren't going to do as good as you'd hoped to be. However, it's important to remember that we're all different, and every level of intelligence is different - just because you don't get as good grades in some subjects doesn't make you any less of a person. As far as Academic tips go, you should first identify how your learning method, if you haven't already. There are lots of helpful questionnaires online that will help you with this. Once you know your learning style, you'll see what resources will help you the most. Visual learners, for example, find it best to use graphics and images for studying, while aural prefer using music and sound while studying. Social learners prefer studying in groups and solitary learners prefer studying alone. Here is a link to a site that contains more information on learning styles, and also contains an inventory/questionnaire designed to help work out your learning style: http://www.learning-styles-online.com/overview/I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck! :)

Sorry if my answer is too long/short for your problem but i'll try to help. I am frequently attracted by the internet and distracted from what i should be doing(like now). But still i managed to top in my class. What i did was before the exams i hid(or made my parents hide) all the devices with internet and all other distracting stuff. Still i did not jump to study. But eventually i got bored and took up my books, believe me thats what is responsible for my result. Unfortunately after that in the next grade, i got distracted again. But i see u have a goal 'to get into a university like Yale,Brown or Harvard' and that is a wonderful goal to get motivated. Whenever you find ur self not working hard these just remember these goals and you will get motivated again.Plus u must have good grades in your genetics ;) too. Anyway when you study try to relate everything it helps u understand and thus remember what u have studied. If you are on the internet u can search for things relevant to you syllabus:) . Remember it is your future and u must help urself. Hopefully not only will you get into those schools u will be a very successful person. My best wishes to you :) check this link out if u r having trouble with the internet: http://lifehacker.com/5958801/how-to-commit-internet-suicide-and-disappear-from-the-web-forever

It kind of all depends on the way you think, but some general memory tips include chewing gum while studying and the same flavor gum during the test (smell and taste are very powerful memory recall senses). Study the bulk of your material during the day with short breaks in between 20 minute sessions. Then at night, right before you go to bed, review all your notes. When you sleep your short term memory is converted into long term memory, so you are more likely to remember things that happen in the evenings for longer than you remember things that happen in the mornings. What I do when I study, and this has more to do with how I think, is to break things down in an outline format if I am studying alone OR to try to teach it to someone else. I generally assume a leadership position in a study group because I learn while I quiz other people.
