How do I get birth control pills without my mother knowing?

I am 15 years old and I am sexually active. I live on a small island where everybody talks. I know there is doctor-patient confidentiality but the doctor that I have been going to my whole life is one of my mum’s best friends. I really do want to use the pill because I want to be as safe as possible. How can I get the pill without my mother or anybody else finding out? Thank you so much for you help.

A free clinic or a planned parenthood-type location would be your best bet. But if you have none of those options, just go to the doctor and ask for a different one. Call and make your appointment and when they ask if you have a doctor, say no, and that you would prefer it be someone other than your mom's best friend/doctor's name. Then you don't have to worry about a conflict of interest with the doctor feeling compelled to tell your mother.

I think the best thing would be to involve your mother in your intimate life. You might learn that mothers know best and i learned that and I'm only 18. You might find out they're also very understanding.
