How do I convince my dad to let me work at summer camp again?

I’ve been working at a summer camp for the past five years and I love it! They pay well, they give you a free place to stay, they do your laundry every week, and you don’t have to pay for food. The main reason I love it though, is because I like getting to teach campers about things that I’m interested in, like archery and drama. This year, I really wanted to work the whole summer, but my dad is firmly against it. I don’t know what to do about that! He says that I need to get a different job to show that I’m willing to work with a company for a long time, but by the end of summer, I would have to change jobs because I will be moving to my college campus. He also tries to make the point that I will make more at another place, but for a first time employee, it’ll be hard to make $200 a week where I live (which is what I will be making at camp.) Do you have any advice on how to convince my dad to let me work at summer camp again?

Argue the case that you'll be moving soon anyway. Explain you're making the money part-time while you can rather than settling into a longer term job. Tell him you don't want to have to quit anything you've committed to.

Also the fact that you keep returning to the summer camp shows a willingness to help others, a commitment to that job, and explain that it's only technically a short term commitment, since you keep going back. While preparing yourself for the wider world of work is important, extra curricular activities, especially what your doing, is looked upon favorably by most employers. It shows patience and perseverance.
