how do i convince my counciller im not making it up

I have had a persistent cough for the last two years and the doctors and specialists cant seem to find what is wrong. it has recently gotten worse and I now cant walk down the stairs without getting out of breath and my throat closing. I basically have to everywhere slowly
my college have told me to go to the councillor and she has automatically assumed that its a coping mechanism. I use it as an excuse not to d things every now and again but that’s just because its a good excuse if I don’t wanna do something.
there is actually something physically wrong so I hate going now because shes trying to convince me that there isn’t. but my college have said that i have to go to the sessions. its just horrible that she keeps trying to tell me that there is nothing wrong when there is. please help xxx

You said that sometimes you use it as an excuse to get out of things. This makes you lose your credibility, which can be why your counselor thinks nothing is wrong with you. Try to be honest and not use it as an excuse, so that they can see something is really wrong. You need to consult your doctor again. Clearly something is wrong.

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble :( I would try to find a doctor who actually has an answer. If you cannot, I would try to at least research your symptoms to pin it down. Whatever the case, there is an answer. There's just a lot of not so great doctors out there unfortunately.

that sucks :( I would recommend going to a doctor for this problem rather than a counselor. it might be very bad asthma or anxiety problems or panic attacks. I don't think a counselor is the best person to go to for this :)
