Father is manic bipolar, mother is severely depressed, fathers never been in the picture so I don’t know what its like. But I’ve questioned whether I’ve inherited it and would like advice.

The easiest way to figure out if you have said disorder is to go to a Therapist to be tested..

My mom's side of the family gets both manic depression (a.k.a. Bipolar Disorder type II) and post-traumatic stress disorder--HOWEVER, this is more prominent with the boys. I don't remember why that is. Also, if you really want to know, talk to your doctor--do not Google it or you'll be (self) diagnosed with every disorder known to mankind (believe me). Don't worry too much or you'll start stressing out and that is one way to getting what your father has. You say both your parents have some kind of depression? Is it in your mother's side of the family as well (because that, alas, would increase your chances tremendously--doesn't mean you give in to it, just means your risk increases by a lot)? Also, if you have you father's kind of depression, believe me, someone close to you will notice. I know from experience the signs (especially if it's too late to treat--also know that from experience :( ). But yeah, go to a doctor, ask about depression, talk about what might have triggered your curiosity, etc. You can also message me--I can't necessarily diagnose you since I'm not qualified to do so, but if you need a friend, have questions, stuff like that, you can message me. I'm pretty busy because of college, but I try my best to check back here the next day or day after that. Hope this helped a bit. :)
