Keep yourself busy. Try not to be alone too much. Whenever you have the urge to do so get up and take a walk. Some people count to ten or have breathing exercises they do. Keep yourself busy with other stuff, go out more, spend time with friends/family. Join a club or a sport. Go for a run, sing, take a shower. Don't go any longer harming your fragile body that does only good to you.
when i want to stop the urge to cut i usually either draw on the area i want to cut until the urge goes away or distract myself with tv or squeeze a piece of ice or call a friend to hang out or clean my room or take a warm bath with bubbles to calm me down, i hope this helps a little
Try comforting yourself. Find something that makes you happy or relaxes you and focus on that. Keep yourself busy. Whenever you get the urge to cut get away from it, go somewhere. so something anything to make you happy.
I normally distract myself with my hobby but that doesn't always work. Sometimes I snap a rubber band against my wrist or when it's snowing I run out side barefoot until my feet hurt. These probably aren't really good ones but it helps me.
cutting is simply another unhealthy habit like smoking or alcoholism. do what i did. what got me to stop cutting myself was working out, and doing drugs. but don't do drugs. just work out it helps a lot. whenever you have the urge to cut yourself, drop down and give me 50 push ups. then get up if you still have an urge, drop down and give me 50 crunches. then get up. if you still have the urge to cut (you'll probably have more an urge for water though) drop down and give me some burpies. the burn you get from intense work outs hurts enough for you to be content, and then AFTERWARD when you're sore you'll be all "oh my god this hurts so GOOD." you wanted pain? problem solved my friend.
Music and writing have really gotten me out of situations like this. If you feel any pent up tension or even just raw emotion, letting it erupt in the form of a hobby helps a lot. Write for yourself. Listen to music that makes you feel enlightened or powerful. Sing in the shower. Keep yourself busy so you sleep well at night. If you feel up to it, you can even keep a tally of how long it has been since you last cut to encourage yourself. Reward yourself once in a while. Keep yourself occupied with things you like to do.Hope this makes you feel better.
