Hey Junebug (: I had the same problem.
Generally, I feel it's because I didn't realise the food is going in, and suddenly I felt ashamed and hated myself. Then to deal with that - food. It's a vicious cycle.
What I found helped a lot was actually just to look in the mirror and be happy with yourself. Especially moving around. When you're confident in moving around without being awkward in your body, you are so much more confident and that boosts oxytocin levels, which boosts your metabolism. Also, you feel much much happier.
I know that's a big step to take. But moderating when you eat is important too. You could try saying, okay, I'm gonna eat a massive breakfast, a good lunch, and not eat anything until halfway to dinner when I can have one snack. Then nothing after dinner. Breakfast is so important.
Over-exercising increases stress levels, especially if you're thinking and worrying about it all the time. Don't over think it. Just do. Plan 3-4 sessions per week where you know you're just going to get down and work, and have the rest of the week off. By regulating everything (can I suggest a food diary as well) it should control the binge eating a little.Hope this helped! x
