How bad can an eating disorder really get?

1

I’ve been making myself throw up for a little over a month now and so far nothings happened to me, and I know in health class they would talk about the side effects but I’m not really worried because nothings happened.

The side effects can pretty much kick in if you keep going and going. But the thing is, eating disorders aren't something you want to deal with in the future... I know you may not appear to be very thin in your mind, but it doesn't really matter what your weight is.. Being skinny is actually a lot harder than everyone thinks.

Personally for me it's pretty difficult. I'm 21 and I started going days even 2 weeks at one point in time without eating a thing since I was about 12. When I go to eat something I want to throw up or I will get faint like from the smells and intake of food that I don't want. I'm always dizzy, I can't walk more than about 3-5 minutes without getting dizzy because my body has gotten so weak from it. I even drew in an ssi check because of how that (among other things) has affected me.Having an eating disorder is really not something you want. I deal with it everyday. It throws of your day, makes you depressed (depending on how bad it is I guess). No matter what you look like, I personally believe everyone is beautiful and I wish everyone could see that but that would make life too easy of course. >.>I went a time for 2 full weeks without a single thing to eat or drink and ended up in the hospital 5 times within 1 week because I couldn't get myself to eat anything without throwing up or fainting from the smell, soon after that I slept everyday all day, the only time I was awake was when I was doing what I did best back then (not going to mention it). Eating disorders (if they are bad enough) can kill you if you get to skinny or too weak.I am not for sure how else to explain it, but please do be careful and make sure you stay hydrated and eat healthy when you do eat that way it wont affect you mentally or health wise or anything. ^.^

Bulimia will eventually do nasty things to your body. So if your goal is to achieve and maintain beauty through bulimia, it is not very practical. Some hardcore people who really know what they are doing can avoid many of the unpleasant effects. But these tend to be people with medical or biology degrees who really, really understand how the human body operates. So, if you are gonna do it, get down to the science of it. And if that sounds like a lot of work, perhaps there are other options out there?

i struggled with this for many years, and it is not worth it in the end. honestly to me it kindof represents laziness now, and a lack of self care and love. i got up and started back eating gentle foods and not purging and i got on a very steady healthy diet and started running and doing weights. now im not weak, and i have somewhere to put my frustrations, and im healthy.

OMG don't do it don't do it, my friend just got released from the hospital its terrible she broke her body, she lost her period so she can never have children, she gets dizzy every time she stands up and she passed out in class the other day and she's doing everything she can to get over it. Don't do it to yourself, its a mistake, you don't realize how bad it can get

I have had my eating disorder for four years, and I did not start experiencing side effects until a few months ago. You shouldn't risk it until it's too late. It was kind of like a slap in the face to me. You should really consider going into therapy if you are not already.

I'm greatly involved with those people who have been dealing with eating disorders. I even had issues with eating disorders, and it's a horrible thing. Nutrition is a must in order to be felling great. Anyway,You made yourself throw up and nothing happened. That's great good for you. Well let me tell you every human being body functions ,are totally different. You might not have experienced any side effects, but i can guarantee you ,that later on,your health status will decline if you make yourself throw up . You are female,a girl! One of the first side effects that will gradually increase is hair loss and there is lot more... I'm real sure that you have a natural pretty hair. Would you like to lose that? Probably not. So is there anyway that you could change this behavior?

You end in a treatment place. You eat, swallow the food and automatically throw it up in your mouth because that's what your body does now, and you have to swallow it again [somebody I know who is currently in a center told me this].
