Have a hard time trusting?

My fairly ironic trust issue is derived from not fully believing in myself.

There's a saying: " If you aren't sure if you trust someone or not, then you already know that you don't"
Having a hard time trusting people, can in part be from having low confidence levels (for instance not believing you are worthy enough, or not believing people are sincere when they pay you compliments). But trust issues can also be because of your personality type, or your past experiences, or just the fact that you are smart and trust your gut, haha.
Enjoy life, love everyone, but don't let your guard down completely, truth is you really can't trust anyone without being let down at some point in your life. Even the best people will let you down at one point or another, that's just how it is. Sorry.

I must also say that loving and trusting yourself is the solution. Even if you feel it is ironic, you still know the solution :) Which is a great start! One of the biggest keys to working on it in fact. So until you trust yourself don't try and force yourself in trusting others, because it is almost impossible. You always have yourself and always will. You can't really abandon yourself either. There is trust in that. There are various ways to work up your trust but it always starts with you :). Once you are centered in yourself with love and trust for yourself, you will find others who does the same. Then you will share this trust with each other too.I hope this helps one way or the other.Take care!
