You've read over the stories of your book friends enough times. Look in your mind and ask yourself what Mr. Potter would say to you on the topic, or you can consult one of the very great Dumbledore brothers for advice, or First Wizard Zorander (He's always a great source of good advice, check the Sword of Truth series).
Though he tends to be a little too intense and patronizing, Paul Atreides (of the Dune saga) tends to have very practical advice on the subject of life. Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus wasn't half-bad on the topic. The Doctor would talk you into the final century about life and the many ways you can live it; he's had thirteen.
Doctor Gregory House is an ass, but he'll give it to you straight (with the added bonus of a metaphor or two to tease your brain, though he'll also call you an idiot on your way out the door). Hell, ask his friend Wilson, the moralizer. If all else fails, you can always go to Mr. T for advice and that's generally entertaining.
The human imagination is so powerful that if we spend enough time with a person, be the real or a construct of fiction, we can predict what they would say in a given situation. Make use of that. With the many, many books at your disposal, who among your libraries would serve as an adequate source of positive advice and as a decent motivational force? Speaking of the Force, don't consult Obi-Wan on advice about life; he'll tell you a convoluted truth from a backwards perspective because he's too uncomfortable to spit it out. The Jedi tend to be pretty rigid in their thinking, so don't ask them for advice; they'll just tell you to go meditate for a few days and the answer will come to you, they won't validate your feelings or anything.
One last bit of advice; if all else fails, "Hulk Smash!" is always an option. Not recommended, but it's an OPTION. :)
