Fascinated with Serial Killers?

Okay so I’ve been into Psychology for a really long time, it’s what I want to major in when I go to university, and I currently take a class in school on it. My teacher mentioned something about psychology on serial killers or something, I don’t quite remember what she said about it, all I remember is that she said they work in jails or something and talk with serial killers, rapists, and treat them so that, upon release (if they ever are released) they don’t re-offend.

This really interests me because I’ve always been fascinated with learning about serial killers like Ted Bundy, etc., and I wanted to know if anyone here knows what that study is called? Is it criminology or is it something else thats more specific to just killers? I really want to know because I think it’s something I’d be interested in doing as a career when I’m older.

At the undergraduate level you will want to major in psychology or criminology. You would become more specialized at the graduate level.

I think you should do some research on criminology and criminal profiling, specifically. Those are very interesting subjects and from what I've read, will be right up your alley. My brother is a big fan of these subjects as well, and I've done my share of research with him. Very interesting stuff. Have an amazing day :)

There is criminology which is studying the minds of criminals. There are shows like Criminal Minds which episodes are based on true criminals.
