I think it depends on your mood and events that are happening in your life. I've always been a positive person so I tend to get inspirsd from music but at the same time music has caused me to over think things and cause more issues in my life. For example I'm still going through a tough break up and I know that sad music has definitely made me sad at times but it has also made me see the bigger picture in life and has helped me a lot through the break up.

this is quite a good question.. to be honest I am quite a negative person and listen to sad/depressing music when im in a bad mood which doesn't really help but it makes me listen to the words and think about life.. can be quite inspiring cause normally sad music has really touching lyrics. but at the same time can make me overthink and cause more thoughts and issues needed. so in my eyes does both haha message me if fancy a chat :)

It all depends on your perception and/or how you are feeling. Sad music can really make you think. This type of music has lyrics that we can relate to, and it will think about how to deal with it. Though, you may overthink and create more issues. Like I said, it depends on perception.

I'm a writer, and some of the most inspiring music for me is actually dark, twisted ambient music and orchestral music (specifically the kind of "longing" sound in some songs). I like music that creates a dark, foggy atmosphere around me, it's both soothing and helps me generate ideas more quickly. I also listen to slow, ambient post-rock while I try to sleep. Look up the song "You Lost the Starlight in Your Eyes" by Hammock - they're what I sleep to.

Just think about how listening to a happy upbeat song can make you feel. It can feel empowering and energizing, maybe even a confidence booster! So just imagine what sad music can do.
