Does he actually like me?

I have this guy friend and we have been really close and friendly for the past year. we have the same interests and make many inside jokes. the thing is we don’t hang out alone all the time. My other friend who is a girl joins with us. all three of us hang out together. Sometimes my gal friend will try and convince my guy friend and I that we both like each other and I’m 50% sure he likes me back. Us two have talked about dating each other before, but he says he isn’t ready for one because he doesn’t think he’s good enough. Anyway, lately my guy friend has been teasing me every time he can see me ( we live in the same neighborhood and hang out a lot, so its often) and makes slight touchy gestures on my arm and shoulder. he even told me I was a really pretty girl and should have more self-confidence, but I’ve also noticed him being friendly to my gal pal, which is his gal pal too. I don’t know if it is in his personality, but he always wants to be thoughtful and caring and make sure she can hang out after school because she has sports every day, but when I’m not around he doesn’t make much of an effort. he will text and have conversations with her right in front of me. we were playing a video game together once and every time she texted him he would pause the game and respond, pause the game and respond, pause the game and respond. Does he care more for her or just doesn’t want to seem clingy to me?
I don’t know if im really dumb and blind at what signals he is giving me, but I was just wondering does he actually like me?

He might or might not like you. Guys can seem a little strange. The only real way to know is to ask him. The worst that could happen is that he could say no. Sure that would suck, but then you'd know. And you'd still have two great friends. Have you ever talked to your girl friend about how she feels about him? If you are ready to know how both of them feel, then the only solution to ask. It might be a little hard or awkward, but knowing is worth it. Who knows, it could lead to something great.
