Does anyone else just… hate noise?

For some reason, I just hate noises. All noises. Particularly really loud noises and noises that are barely loud enough for you to hear them. I hate the sound of people walking, eating, and typing. I hate the sound of my cat meowing. I hate the sound of my own voice, and other people’s voices. The noises become especially aggravating when I’m trying to focus on something. I actually came very close to having a panic attack in the middle of my online class because my cat wouldn’t stop meowing. I had to end the test early because I couldn’t stop shaking and crying. Also, sudden noises scare the crap out of me. I always feel the need to stick my fingers in my ears when I’m in public places (or at home when my family is here), so I look pretty damn awkward. I don’t know where this hatred of sounds comes from. It’s not like I have PTSD or something. I just feel like I always have to operate in perfect silence, which is a lot more inhibiting to my productivity than you might think. Is this weird?
