Does anyone else drink coffee not for energy, but to improve your mood?

I find that coffee makes me in a much better mood. I’m happier at work and am able to interact with people much more easily without getting frustrated or annoyed. I know lots of people drink coffee because they are tired, but I usually have enough energy. I just get waves of sadness over me a lot that sometimes only caffeine can fix… Is this bad? Can anyone relate?

I guess I find myself drinking coffee to feel better too. :) As long as something makes you feel better when you're down, then you do it, right?

That happens to me to. I kind of become more communicative and just happier when I drink coffe... It's a legal mood improver ;), nothing unusual.

How often do you drink coffee and for how long have you done so? That sounds almost like an addiction (I'm half-joking).

Caffeine doesn't seem to have the same effect on me, it'll boost my mood and energy for like 20-30 mins after I've had some coffee but after that I get anxiety and a weary stomach. I try to avoid coffee and have tea instead when I can.

Coffee contains caffeine which can release endorphins creating a high. It's also what can help improve moods and increase blood flow to the brain.

It takes two cups of coffee for me to become human in the morning.
