Do you feel that all people hold equal worth?

I’ve always assumed that most people with their heads on straight, ethically, felt that each individual is of equal value to the next, but have been given reason to wonder if that’s actually true, recently. Generally, I feel that the blahtherapy community holds ethics similar to mine, so I’m wondering what your opinions are. Explanations encouraged :)

I think it's easy to want to believe I feel that way but the trouble is, it is easy to compromise and treat each other as less than that. In that way it is easy to become a hypocrite. I personally do believe that in my head and in my heart but I am not above falling below even my own standard that I set for myself which is to love others just as much as I love myself (which requires that I love myself first - not always an easy task for me either). But yeah, ultimately I do not believe I am any better than anyone else or others are any better than me. Every person has value because they have gifts just as I do, they can love just as I can. They will be stronger in many areas where I am not and I will be strong in areas where they are lacking. I think that is beautiful because it reminds me that when we come together we are much stronger. We complement one another. Well I guess I sort of digressed. Anyway, hope that answers the question.

All people hold equal worth of course. Though whether what all people say hold equal worth, that is a whole different story.

I think you have to define "worth". I agree that everyone should be given the same basic rights regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, etc. However I believe that since we are all individuals that come from different mixed genetics, some people have inherent strengths that others simply do not possess. Does this make them worth more? well maybe to an employer that wants sharp motivated workers instead of dull lazy ones or maybe to a spouse that wants an adventurous mate instead of a homebody.... Again it comes down to what your definition of worth is.... I'm the type that treats everyone with respect until they do something to lose it.

Worth comes in different forms. There are many different areas to excel and no one excels in all of them. Bob may be better at sports than Tom but Tom is better at math. No one is truly equal. When it comes to race however people should be considered equal even though sadly not everyone believes that. Everyone does deserve however to be treated equally. Worth varies but that is a good thing or else we would have to force everyone to not exceed in what there good at.

I think like other moral concepts, it depends the time in history, a lot in society. But I think everybody worth the same, we are all equal to biology. Maybe it's the case of not think about "what this worth?" because implies to put some price over something, and it's impossible to do that with a living thing. Even with nature...

Of course all people are of equal worth. They are worth the beautiful gist of life even if they have done misdeeds doesnt mean they arent a living thing anymore!
