Are these feelings normal?

I’ve been feeling feelings towards guys for over a year now. I’m 17 and have kind-of had a boyfriend, but he’s gone now. Is anyone else (male or female) able to help me? I’m so confused and I can’t tell my parents.

Yes, they're perfectly normal to have. There's no right or wrong when it comes to your feelings. And it's perfectly normal to feel a bit confused in the begining, not having quite figured out who you are and all that. Things we all go through, no matter which sexual preference you might have, to be curious about things.

It might be a good idea to talk to someone though, someone that you really trust if you don't feel ready or like you can talk to your parents, maybe a counselor or something at school.

Good luck figuring it out. Don't let anyone keep you from being who you are.

There is nothing wrong with homosexuality. Live your life true to who you are, not to who others think you should be.

There's absolutely nothing more wrong with being homosexual than being heterosexual. It often feels as if there is because many people make "lol-GAYYYY" type jokes (myself included - I'm not proud) but those jokes are about the stereotype, not the sexuality. Anyone who knows you will judge you by your personality not your sexuality.

Whether you are gay or not is not really completely relevant right now. Until you know for sure who you are sexually attracted to, you don't need to tell anyone. Unless of course, you want support or youre in a relationship that is serious and you want others to know. Its normal to be confused when youre young and for some people it takes the first 25yrs of their lives to figure out who they are sexually attracted to. Take your time and don't let it worry you so much. But if you ever feel totally lost in life, make sure you talk to someone. Telling someone else how you feel is the easiest way to relieve your stress and prevent further anxiety and depression. I hope sharing this with us was at least a little helpful to you, and that the responses you get ease your mind.
