Are tattoos acceptable in the medical field?

I am a health-science major but I really want to get a few tattoos. Would this be able to work out? I really don’t want to screw up my future at a young age simply because I got a tattoo. Please let me know

Umm. Good Question.. They are not really good, Professionally. But if its really small like somewhere your scrubs won't show then yes, in some places its acceptable. But if its an outrageous tattoo of a dragon or skull on your neck and arms then its not really good. When your trying to get a job; you have to look presentable. Not Bad-ass with a killer tattoo, because the boss or manager (who ever is hiring you) will have all his/her attention on that tattoo, which might take over the conversation more than the job interview itself. You understand? soo yeah.. I don't really think so.

In my belief, tattoos are acceptable in the medical field; if hidden. I also want to work in the medical field and get tattoos. The placement of them will be hidden. So if they can be covered up then you should be fine because no one would know.

I have seen many, many nurses, doctors, etc. with tattoos. Some covered in them and others only have one or two visible. I have never thought they looked unprofessional on them. I do spend a lot of time around hospitals since my husband works in one..maybe just be careful where you place it and be careful on what you get. Everyone does have their own opinions though.
