anyone ever been catfished??

lol even though it wasnt funny then it is kinda funny now …anywhooo about 4 years ago when i had just turned 18 i was “dating” this guy even though we had never met in person 0_o welll maybe dating is the wrong word blahhh whatever anyways i thought i was in love and obsessed over him we skyped and all that so i knew he was the same guy in his pics but still alot of stuff was off about him …he wouldnt add me on fb…he would always make plans to meet me then BAM something dramatic happened and he couldnt …and lots of other things but to make a long story short i ended up finding out not ONLY was he talking with other girls online but he had an actual gf and a KID he didnt tell me about the entire year we were suppose to be “in love” basically everything he told me was a lie …0_0 the whole thing was horrible but that was a long time ago….anywho anyone else have this happen to them?

This has never happened to me but I would advise that you shouldn't trust people on the internet unless you are certain that, this is the person you are talking to and he is genuine. This does sound like a horrible to have happen to you, I'm sorry you went through that, it must of been horrible.

It's happened to me to an extent, I got involved with someone who claimed to be single, knew him outside of the internet until one night I found out his girlfriend had flirted with someone else, he got drunk and told me this. I was supposed to be his girlfriend, the one he wanted. That's about the worst I've had. Met someone else online since, he's a good person luckily, sending this from his laptop, haha.

It has never happened to me either, but the one guy i met online was not. He was who he said he was but after we met in real life i never heard from him again. been a year now. But i know a few who have and its sad. im sorry it happened to you and

Just wanted to say there are legit guys online too. I was one of them when I had met my ex at the time. Not that I had been looking for a gf at the time but we just kinda clicked. She had been underage at the time though so I had to give her parents some basic info like my address and phone number. They had worried I was an online predator or something, which is understandable. But in time they did warm up to me. Sadly our relationship eventually ended since in the end she didn't truly love me but that's a different story. Just some tips if you meet a person online is to ask for pics and video chats before you consider getting too close to the person. It's not that hard to do that kind of stuff with technology today. And if a person keeps avoiding stuff like that, it's something to worry about.

Yes, I've had something like this happen. I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you. It is painful when you think someone loves you and is yours, but meanwhile they have other things going on behind your back. You deserve better than this. Next time if things seem fishy, follow your guts.
