24 year old very shy guy with major problems approaching new people

I used to be outrageously shy when I was young but year after year I changed but I think because of the crazy environment that surrounds me. Maybe if you start letting go on the internet your personality will shed like a shell. (:

As much as i agree with PotatoNut, You could also try the opposite and start my trying to mean people online and getting used to the interaction of new people that way.I had the same issue of being absolutely terrified of meeting new people but i started to chatting to people online and found that i gained the skills that i need for when i meet people in real life. This doesn't work for everybody but it worked for me and a couple of people that i have advised it too in my life had very similar results.Even if you start by meeting people online in another country as the fact that you will probably never meet in person gives you that freedom to be yourself and say what you like without the fear of messing up and somebody that you may know finding out.
