I have a question about Borderline Personality Disorder. So, I know that a common symptom is an intense attachment and hatred for the people in your life, like friends and partners. But is there a similar thing with your interests? Like, you hyper-fixate so much on a tv show or book or whatever you love, and then later, you find a flaw with it, or it disappoints you, so you JUST HATE IT. And you get irrationally angry and want to distance yourself from it as aggressively as possible? Because I like to educate myself on other mental disorders than what I have (depression) and I was thinking about how unstable I feel about things I hate and like, and I couldn’t help but make the connection. Is this a thing that people with bpd do? Or is my intense relationships to fictional things probably just caused by my depression and anxiety?

    • Yes that is a BPD thing to do. Not everyone will do it, obviously, but that is something that is not too uncommon.
