Be as compassionate, empathetic and loving as you can @ember1000, let venters know that you truly want to help them and see them happy Ember, share positive experiences that have helped you overcome difficult moments in your life, try to relate to them as much as you can Ember, always listen and understand too, don’t be afraid to ask them questions so you can best help them overcome so they can see brighter days, you are doing great Ember, keep being the kind listener and wonderful member of BT that you are, this community is so lucky to have such a special person like yourself here, making others feel fantastic, feel free to inbox me anytime if you want to chat or vent, stay strong, you are never alone (hugs)
Ideally, you could be a listener and never suggest anything, it’s worth exploring how could you do that, as we can’t always fix it.
I could be biased and in the wrong, but I think the issue truly is the Venter on these kinds of things. Please believe me when I say I sincerely understand the difficulty that comes with clinical depression. I know how hard it is to do even simple tasks and nobody truly knows how one with depression feels. Even so, I MUST say it’s a waste of time for somebody with depression to come to BlahTherapy as a Venter, open with how awful they feel, and say, ”You can’t help me.” I can’t help but feel these people do that specifically to be insulting. The advice I’m trying to give you is if they don’t want help, don’t waste each other’s time. If, by chance, they feel this way and DO want help, then you very well should try to do whatever you can to get them better. Not everybody can be saved, apparently… Am I right?
