Leave an open ear for him/her and ask them what’s up at least once. If he/she ever decides to tell you what’s bothering him/her, he/she will feel like he/she can trust you more and may open up more often. If he/she never opens up, you can’t be blamed for it and shouldn’t be upset by it. That’s what I think.
I'm a recovered drug addict (sober over twenty years) and married to a recovering sex addict. I've healed from the relational trauma the discovery of his addiction caused and feel it's time to help others overcome the trauma and/or addiction too.
