Actually.. It’s cos, both of them live in different cities/countries. It means that to remain in contact wouldn’t be that easy anymore. Their activities are different. Routines too.
And most of the times, they can t be there for each other like they used to cos of those differences.

It works for some people, but the person you refer to prefers to not get into one.
Exactly. There’s a difference between ”long distance relationships don’t work” and ”I wouldn’t get into one.”. The first sentence makes fun of all long-distance lovers, while the second one is a personal fact and opinion.
