What do you guys do when you’re not sure if a venter is actually venting, or just trying to get a rise out of you?
If you’re not certain, you can always kindly end the conversation and move on to another venter.
That’s true. I just always feel really guilty for disconnecting first. Worried that I might be wrong, you know?
If you disconnect in a decent way, then you shouldn’t feel guilty. You could say something like ”I’m sorry, I don’t think I can help you, I suggest you look for another listener who will be able to help you better”.
