What does death look like?

In school I’m reading the book ” Book Thief ” and I’m the artist for this week. So I decided to draw Death. But I don’t know how to draw death because I don’t want to draw the grim reaper because that would be too boring. So if death was a person or something, what do you think death would look like?

If death were a person he'd have to be a person that is intimidating but also enticing. Some people want (or get as close as possible to) death and some run from it as best they can. So probably someone well dressed with a conniving and mischievous grin. Think of it that way. Think of people that others know they shouldn't be close to yet they want to be anyway and then draw traits from those sort of people. Not sure if that helps or not.

I enjoy picturing death as one of two things: the cold. Just that. The cold. And that creeping darkness at the edge of sight during tunnel vision.

That is a question to think of... Death is a pigeon to me. Well, pigeons symbolize freedom and peace. So it's about breaking the chains between human body and a spirit. It's a moment of pureness. So I see it white.

Also, I believe that death is in every one of us. I agree with Despondent Pantomime - it can come to us in any form. Everyone bears a mark of impermanence, therefore you can see death everywhere. Even the sand which we don't notice underneath our feet is nothing but the shells and remains of organisms who once were alive..
I know I'm late with answer, but I'm sure that anything you'll draw will have a definition of death in it. Death is impermanence.

Death is ominous and unknown. Death may be an ending, death may be a beginning. Inevitable, counting down the days, scaring trillions of organisms into frantic scurries for life. Definitely black. The blackest black. Look out of a window on a moonless night when it's completely dark and there is nothing to be seen and everything is unknown in that blackness and that is what death looks like. The deep and terrifying dark. Imagine this darkness as a person. What kind of people give you the absolute chills? Maybe it's a young homeless man that you've never seen before at bus stop wearing a hood, not making any eye contact with anyone, seems to be in a hurry, he looks like he is capable of anything. Or maybe an angry drunk woman that seemed to come out of nowhere, her bloodshot eyes are looking right into you and she's stumbling forward and you have nowhere to run. That is what death looks like. Terrifying, uncertain, unpredictable.

As far as I remember, Death talks about the colors in the Book Thief (?) So maybe take from that and try drawing something related to all the colors that have been mentioned in the book? Sorry, I'll try to think of something better xD
