Insomnia or not ?

0

I for a very long time have been having problem with my sleeping. I feel little sleepy between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. but (obviously) if I don’t go off to sleep then, then I can’t sleep unless its around 4 a.m. to 6 a.m ( Or sometimes not at all). It does not matter however tired I am. Another problem that I am having is that when I somehow manage to sleep then I have trouble waking up. I sleep off more than 9 hrs if its a weekend and during working days I mostly get a sleep of 3 to 4 hrs and that is all. It very less happens that I wake up from the middle of my sleep.

I am wondering if its a case of Insomnia or not. I really need to know this if I am move in the right direction to its solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Try sleeping tablets, I found kalms sleeping ones really help. Or go to a pharmacist and see what ones they recommend if that still doesn't help then need to go to a doctor they might find something out about you that's causing this

I need to know if its insomnia or not. Only after that I can look for methods to solve it. I need to know if its a case of insomnia or just simple sleep disorder. And just to add I have been having sleep trouble for more than 4 years now. I have been skipping it but now I really need to do something about it.

It's hard to tell whether it is insomnia or not, but it's good that you've realized you need to do something about it. I'd try talking to a doctor about it just to find out what's up for sure, however they might try to prescribe you with pills right away when this is probably something you can fix without medication.
If you're open to it, you could try smoking marijuana before going to bed; my boyfriend has had trouble sleeping his whole life and that really helps him. Another thing that's important is to try not to use the internet or watch TV as much as possible while in bed because that can not only keep your brain awake but it also teaches your body that your bed is not always a place for sleeping.
Hope this helps!

The only way to know whether you have insomnia or not is for you to seek help from a doctor. They will likely suggest a few "duh" options, like not drinking caffeine or leaving the TV on at night. They may even suggest over-the-counter sleeping aides like Melatonin, which I have suggested to friends. If it's bad enough, they may give you something stronger or have you referred to a sleep specialist. Sleep studies are, I think, a last resort. I'm speaking as someone who has insomnia and has had these experiences while trying to get help.
