I’m very lost when it comes to college

0

I have been urged constantly by my family to start college and I do want to go, but I have no idea where to begin. I don’t know what I want to do and I am easily intimidated by moving forward in life and get anxious about about anything and everything. I know I need to sign up for Fafsa but what about the college itself? Do I go to community first? Do I go to University? Where am even supposed to start when it comes to classes? I’ve tried general searches for my questions but every result is usually about people who already know what they want to do and I’m starting to feel like I should know this stuff but I don’t. I graduated from high school over a year ago but I’m still so lost. What should I do?

Breathe! It's okay to not know what you want to do yet. When I graduated high school I had no idea either. I would say most people aren't sure initially, you'll notice most students switch majors at least once in their college career. Figuring out what type of school you should go to is entirely dependent on the general "area" you want to head down. I've had many friends who started with a CC and went on to go to great private and public schools like USC, UCLA, etc. I've had friends that went straight to four year schools that are also doing well.So the real key is just figure out what you're personally more comfortable with. If you're not ready to move away from home, then you might want to go to a community college and explore different classes to get a better understanding of what it is you enjoy most, then transfer to a school that's best for that emphasis. But if you do have a general idea, then you might just want to pursue it and go the full ride!
