Does anybody else feel this way with family?

I am home from college for Christmas break and within a day I was ready to go back to the dorms. I find myself calling the dorms home but not my house… is that weird? Am I being a bad daughter for being tired of being “home” already? I should mention my mom was very sick for most of my break so all of the chores and her anger fell on me XP I swear otherwise I would be less upset!

Does it make you a bad daughter that you'd rather be in a place full of people your age, friends, learning, discovery and your first real taste of independence than at home doing chores and being someone's verbal punching bag all while being subtly reminded that you're not grown up just yet?

Yeah, gonna go with a solid "Nope".

The dorms are a place full of fun and exciting times, even if you have a happy family life and don't have to pick up someone else's chores everyone's going to rather be in the dorms, tbh. The only people who look forward to visits home are those VERY far away from family, those who have an amazing relationship with their parents and/or those who have a solid friend circle back home.

I felt similar over the break (minus the chore stuff). I practically ran back to school. I think it can be normal.
