Depressed. What now?

1

I’ve been depressed for a while but unable to admit it. I don’t really know why, the smallest things seem to upset me.

What do I do now? I’m in the process of getting health insurance but won’t have it for at least the next few weeks, possibly months, so I can’t get on medication or go to therapy or anything. My family has always been so proud of me for not being “one of those people that gets depressed”, my friends think mental health and mental illnesses are a joke… I just need to know where to go next or what to do.

In the past I've found that meditation, exercise & vitamins (particularly vitamin B) helps a lot to ease my depression. Try to get out for at least a 15 minute walk or more every day to get your good chemicals flowing, do things that you know make you happy, like listening to your favorite music, watching a funny movie or show, treat yourself to something nice, draw, paint...you get the idea! I've found that medication only acts like a bandaid, it covers up the wound but it wont help it to heal...if you catch my drift. There's definitely a time & place for it though if nothing else helps &/or it's severe to the point that you're having trouble functioning or are considering self harm etc. Hope that helps! Hang in there, things will get better!

Depression is pretty normal to us people, it only depends in where we are, what environment we have while experiencing the feeling. I recommend you to be with people, do something (activities that will make you busy) because it will lessen your worries and make you productive for a while. If you're an introvert type of person, or you have social anxiety, then writing things, reading books, listening to music particularly happy tracks, and playing computer games will be helpful to you. Just keep in mind that the worst thoughts you are making can be alter and if you failed - then try it again. Life is really a test, you just need to prove to yourself that this test will not beat you. Take care! ~

I'm depress too as well so I understand that. I would suggest finding things that you absolutely enjoy like foods, material items, shows, etc and get into a good atmosphere. You have to stay busy and keep your mind from drifting to negative situations. Good luck
