Addiction to music?

2

Since the day I was born, I have always loved music. I listen to any kind from any generation and like a lot of it. But lately I’ve been getting a bit obsessive about music. If my music source gets taken away (my iPod, phone, etc.), I automatically become extremely angry and want to break everything I can get my hands on. Sometimes I even get a little bit homicidal. I haven’t broken anything or hurt anyone yet, but I’d like to break the addiction before I do. How can I do this?

You can make music from anything, especially your mind. I understand that music helps, but if you cannot listen to it electronically, listen with your heart.

I know how you feel, I'm a sound engineering major so I'm seen all day with my headphones on analyzing music. Right now a friend of mine has my ipod and I felt so lost I came here.

I understand how you feel. I don't know if this is in your case, but many people depend on music because it helps take their mind off of their problems. Studies show the music triggers a part of your brain that lets out stress, I guess the absents of it can be very difficult because built up anger can be relived by the music. Like the others suggest, making your own music with help, and doing this excessively will help time away for your Ipod or phone much easier.
