The root of the incubus and succubus mythology is rooted in dreams like that. Not quite lucid, but more than unconsciousness. The brain is a weird thing.
Daydream about finishing the dream the way you want it too (i.e. a hero comes and turns the tables on the evil radio spewing static), and you should be both calmer about it, and, if it happens…[Read more]

@hope15 all the symptoms you described sound like sleep paralysis. Have you been recently anxious/stressed/worried? These emotions trigger sleep paralysis according to studies. I hope you’re feeling better now, must be terrifying
@tanisha when someone is conscious while dreaming (or having a nightmare) is called a lucid dream. I have those frequently. What she described here is more similar to sleep paralysis since she couldn’t consciouscly make a decision to move. In lucid dreaming we can make a choise of actually control the dream and to even wake up. Takes practice but…[Read more]
I had a dream last night that eventually woke me up. I decided to finish it in a way that was good for me, and went back to sleep. I got back to sleep because, I think, I resolved it when I woke. I don’t have to be afraid to go back to sleep again. It was a wild experience that @hope15 had, and I hope she can rest in spite of the violence of it.…[Read more]

My experience is: time plus personal growth goes a long way to start the healing process. Take time to know yourself better. We all recognize another relationship can change things overnight, but we have to be wise in our assessment and not just rebound, or settle because we are lonely. Take time to know what you want in a guy, and then…[Read more]

Thank you, everyone, for your kind messages. You gave me another perspective and I truly appreciate it. I know he’s already done this and is happy now, and I am happy…[Read more]
