Trauma and mental illness is not something to make you look ”cool” or ”cooler” than other people. I wish my friend would stop trying to ’one up’ me with trauma. It’s not funny or amusing at all. I personally would never do that to anyone. Maybe if I was 7 years old …

    • Your friend really should support you instead of trying to make it a competition of who has it worse @invincible, I want to see you truly happy and surrounded by compassion, love and empathy Cecelia, please know you will win all your battles and come out so much stronger sweetie, you are a survivor who never gives up, believe in yourself and keep going forward, you can do it hun, inbox me anytime if you want to chat or vent, you are never alone :) <3 (hugs)

    • Seems like your friend does not really understand how hard mental illnesses are. Maybe explaining them how does it feel and the suffering you go through, they can get to empathize with you. Most of these attitudes come from ignorance, not malice.

    • Very true Marta.

    • Sounds like your friend is a little competitive and dealing with her own hardships as well. Maybe confront her about how it makes you feel when she puts your feelings on the back burner and makes hers the main priority. Obviously both are important, but there comes a time when a friend just needs to be there to listen. A little give and take. Practice active listening by giving each other chances to hash out your true feelings. Everybody leads a different journey, she will come to realize it one way or another. Once your feelings are out in the open, maybe she’ll respect your situation better. Friendship is about love and reciprocity. Tell your friend how you feel. And if she continues to try and undermine your feelings, it might be better to move on. Hope this helps! :)
